Morning Sickness
Feeling nauseous or being sick is common in pregnancy. About eight out of ten expectant mothers experience morning sickness.

It is generally related to increase in hormone levels.

Tips for reducing morning sickness symptoms

  1. Getting up slowly
    Don’t be in a hurry to get out from the bed when waking up. Take your time.
  2. Eat small frequent meals
    Having an empty stomach can make sickness worse. Avoid fatty and spicy food. Avoid caffeine as well. Cold meals can be better than hot ones.
  3. Plenty of fluid intakes
    If drinking water is hard, limit during mealtimes. Try fruit juice, milk or whichever works. The colder the drink, the easier it is to take.
  4. Aromatherapy
    Aromatherapy can help relaxes you, but the scent of certain oils could make you nauseated. Try a few to see if they help, such as lime, peppermint, lemon and mandarin.
  5. Get plenty of rest
    Stress and tiredness can make morning sickness worse. Make sure to get plenty of rest.
